Wake Up Wild
There is a deep longing tucked away inside each of us. A longing that tethers us to our deepest belonging to the world. Just as whale and raven, deer and earthworm, butterfly and horse all have a place and purpose in this world that only they could live, so too do humans.
We each carry within us a unique genius waiting to be expressed; a 'particular gift' that is both wild and wholly our own. It is something only we could bring to this world: our bright, burning, impassioned soul.
Soul is an individual's unique identity that finds expression through one's longing to live from a place of radical authenticity. Living from one's soul-ground is what it means to become fully human. To live on purpose and with the understanding that we grow out of this world and, as a result, are connected to everything. Every blade of grass and wispy cloud, every undulating wave and burning grain of desert sand.
Waking Wild is an invitation to dive into and explore more fully this wild terrain of your soul-ground. To connect with the unique expression of your existence that arises from the singing mind of the Earth. We will do so by engaging with our night dreams which act as both thresholds to other worlds, as well as initiatory experiences that draw us closer to our soul. Drawing out sacred threads from the night world into the day world, we will begin to live our dreams into our waking lives. We will wake, wild!
What does it mean to be wild?
To be wild is to remember our place in the place of everything. To take pleasure in the sensuous by tuning into all of our sense. To engage with the world around us with the understanding that everything is alive and ensouled.
To be wild is to be embodied and emotive. To feel the agony of grief, and the rapture of joy. To feel the fire of our fury, and the cool waters of our sorrow.
To be wild is to express our deepest longing as a gift to the world. A longing that weaves us together as one larger body of relatedness.
Steeping in the Dream Stream
Dreams speak to us in a metaphorical language, a language of the soul. A language comprised of imagery, symbol, archetype, and myth. Dreams bubble up from our individual psychic fields, as well as that of the collective unconscious. In our dreams and through our dreams, we can observe and tend to the life, expression, and embodiment of the soul.
Native to the dreamscape, the dreamworld is the mysterious domain of the soul. Working from the premise that each dream has been sent to change us, to work us in a way that only it could, we will consciously and courageously re-submerge ourselves into the dream stream.
Utilizing various modalities (experiential & nature-based) such as embodiment, art, deep imagination, wandering the land, and conversing with the wild herd of mustangs, we will open ourselves up to a numinous dialogue where the dream will do its work upon us.
Carrying our dreams with us out onto the land, we will learn from the wild terrain that is home to pinyon pine, magpie, pronghorn, and wild mustangs. By allowing nature to be our teacher, we will be given the opportunity to learn more about our own wild nature as human.
