Amanda’s love and passion for this world is channeled through her work as a nature-based soul guide, teacher of somatic practices, writer and poet, storyteller, death doula, horsewoman, and mother. Her work is a confluence of varying fields and traditions which include integrative medicine, contemplative practices, mindfulness and mindfulness-based practices, Hatha & Tantra yogic traditions, somatic education and experiencing, pan-cultural traditions, neuroscience-based practices, eco-depth psychology, nature-based soul discovery, inter-species communication, equine education, mythology, cosmology, and death and dying.
With degrees in cultural anthropology, women's studies, and English literature, Amanda's journey has included advocacy for human and women's rights, founding and directing a former women's non-profit (Empower Shakti), as well as leading trainings internationally with focuses on health, mindfulness, and women's empowerment through the collective efforts of local community members.
Having studied with a variety of leaders, some of her mentors include Robin Saltonstall PhD (integrative medicine health specialist), Aditi Devi PhD (pujarini of the Kali Kula), Geneen Haugen PhD (underworld guide and writer), Mary Marsden (soulcentric guide), Tarron Estes (death doula), Kristen Roderick (life-cycle celebrant® ), and Gina Caputo (yoga educator). She is currently training with Bill Plotkin PhD of Animas Valley Institute, as well as other amazing guides, in areas of human development and cultural transformation.
By blending various disciplines, methodologies, and practices, Amanda provides opportunities for self-exploration through the wild terrain of the mind-body labyrinth. She believes that our extraordinary capacity to feel, sense, imagine, dream, and emote connects us to the greater Mystery of the Earth and Cosmos.
Guided by her ancestors, from her Macedonian great grandmother who was a mountain woman and doula to her native roots of the Passamaquoddy and Cherokee, Amanda's vision is to reconnect people to the Earth by deepening ones relationship to the greater mystery of ones distinctive existence - to rewild humanity, and once again take our place within the family of everything.
With a love for depth, complexity, and paradox, she creates space for and guidance in exploring the vast and mysterious nature of one's personal existence. From dreams, cosmology, myth, grief, woundings, and more she supports the gathering of living relics that hold within them initiatory experiences of and encounters with soul.
"It's terrifying this living within the void of eternal knowing and not knowing because you think the Universe is fractured when, perhaps, the petals of your eyes aren't yet large enough to take in the whole of the Sky." Amanda Jade Fiorino
