Play in the Fields of Your Becoming

Play is a restoration of innocence, and our innocence is a necessary component in cultivating connection - meaningful, soulful, heartfelt connection. There is a wisdom that soars, alighting and delighting in the vast, expansive nature of a life lived playfully, full of curiosity and wonder

Make no mistake, this work of self-discovery and transformation can be rigorous and challenging. However, we believe that a healthy dose of play is necessary for diving deeper.

As you traverse your dynamic and complex inner landscape where terrain can shift, fluctuate, and grow precarious, it's both helpful and necessary to call upon the wisdom of innocence. Indeed, this is work. Some of the greatest work you will ever devote yourself to. That doesn't mean you should be without a sense of adventure and whimsy.

Playshops are way to journey deeper through your soul ground with community. Following your own root system while witnessing and being witnessed by others amplifies the experience through a collective and shared descent.

WANDERING THE LAND OF DREAMS: A DREAM WEAVING SERIES
Yoga Clarity  I  Pagosa Springs, CO  I  January 30 - February 13, 2019  I  3 Wednesday Evenings 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.  I  $90

What if your dreams are dreaming you into being? What if they’re calling out to you, luring you, courting you toward a new way of being full of unimagined possibility?

Dreams for millennia, spanning traditions and peoples, have been a doorway into the sacred terrain of our lives. They are mysterious portals where imagery and archetype, myth and symbol, creature and kin emerge and draw us deeper into a relational world full of life, death, initiation, transformation, healing and revelation.

There are many ways in which one can work with dreams. In this dream weaving series, we will be exploring an approach that is non-interpretive and deeply relational. Rather than working the dream as if they were inanimate objects, we will be wandering dreamscapes as living places and spaces filled to the brim with animism. We will be inviting the dream to work us, surrendering ourselves to the hands of an imaginal potter working to shape us in most spectacular ways. We will let the dreams in-form and trans-form who we are, and who we have known ourselves to be.

This series will weave together various practices such as group dreamwork, movement, ceremony, and art-based mediums.

WEAVING RELATIONS: PINE NEEDLE BASKETRY
Yoga Clarity  I  Pagosa Springs, CO  I  $20  I  Dec 7, 2018  I  11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The craft and art of weaving is a longstanding practice that can be found throughout the world in its various and stunning forms. Out of a deep relationship with the land and an innate sense of belonging to place, peoples have relied upon the organic and animate world to create. Basketry is one such craft and art form. With varying functions and purposes, baskets are one way in which the intricate webbing of our relationship with the world finds form. Weaving becomes an intimate process of dreaming, where our senses, imagination, and bodies become beautifully entangled with our surrounding ecology.

In this playshop, we shall weave ourselves together and learn the craft and art of pine needle basketry, its presence and cultivation over time, as well as the peoples and places that have deeply informed, and been informed by, this ancestral skill. Come learn the craft of weaving.

What you will need to bring: darning needle, beads (if you’d like to adorn your basket), comfy clothes, additional support for sitting, food, water

ECOLOGY OF YOGA: WHERE BODY MEETS EARTH
September 8 - 9 (Saturday - Sunday)  I  Nederland, CO  I  9 a.m. - 4 p.m. both days  I  This program will be held outside - minimal hiking
Did you know that you are a microcosm of the Earth? Have you ever been curious about your own internal wilderness? Do you long to explore the endless ways your body is in-formed by the landscapes that surround you? In this program, we will be exploring the cultural chasm between body and earth. Through our explorations, we will gather the threads needed to weave a bridge between ourselves and the land, once more. In doing so, we will re-member that our healing and self-discovery are deeply bound to a vibrant ecology that is both within us and outside of us.

Braiding together the somatic practice of yoga with archetypal psychology, mythology, deep imagination, and nature-based practices, you will discover new ways to interact with your psychosomatic experiences. Diving deeper into earth-based rhythms necessary for human development, we will explore new and old ways of traversing the landscape of healing. We will begin to cultivate an earth-based language and an organic lens capable of reframing our experiences, ways of expression, and movements through the world. By revisioning the ways in which we interact with the body-mind matrix, we will discover the transformative capacity that lives within every cell of life.

“In your body is Mount Meru, encircled by the seven continents; the rivers are there too, the seas, the mountains, the plains, and the gods of the fields. Prophets are to be seen in it, monks, places of pilgrimage and the deities presiding over them. The stars are there, and the planets, and the sun together with the moon; there too are the two cosmic forces: that which destroys, that which creates; and all the elements: ether, air and fire, water and earth. Yes, in your body are all things that exist in the three worlds, all performing their prescribed functions around Mount Meru; she alone who knows this is held to be a true yogini.”
- The Śiva Saṃhitā, a Nāth Siddha guide to Haṭha Yoga 10th Century

ANATOMY OF YOGA: ALIGNING BODY, BREATH AND SOUL
A Four Part Series  I  Yoga Junction in Louisville, CO  I  Requirements listed below
Do you find yourself longing to deepen your knowledge of anatomy? Are you passionate about helping your students discover healthy pathways of movement? In this series, we will be exploring functional anatomy as it relates to the dynamic practice of yoga. Breaking down the complexity of alignment through the shapes of the asanas, you will deepen your knowledge of why and how. Why it’s important for the upper arm bone to rest appropriately in the shoulder socket. Why it’s crucial that the hip bones in Warrior I remain squared forward. How the major junction points in the spine impact the activation of the core. How the breath is a crucial function in our alignment.

This series will equip teachers with an ability to respond to variations and adaptations in individual anatomy, as well as assist students in finding healthy and safe pathways of movement specific to their biomechanics. Additionally, there will be a focus on how to cue in a manner that incorporates what is learned from these courses that will be applicable in public yoga classes, private sessions and workshops. You will not need to know every muscle and bone in the body, but you will need to have a foundation in anatomy.
